Sainik School Coaching in Attingal

Sainik School Kazhakootam - one of India's oldest Sainik Schools, established in 1962 - sits in Thiruvananthapuram district, approximately 20 kilometres from Attingal. Its sprawling 225-acre campus between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea is practically in your district.

The school has 74 Class 6 seats. Of those, roughly 50 go to Kerala domicile students under the standard 67% home-state reservation. A child from Attingal, Varkala, Chirayinkeezhu, Nedumangad or Kattakada holds a Kerala domicile. They compete only within the Kerala home-state pool for those 50 seats.

What the AISSEE Actually Demands

The exam is conducted by NTA, offline, on OMR answer sheets. Class 6: 150 minutes. No negative marking. Four subjects - Maths, GK, Language and Intelligence - all from CBSE Class 5 curriculum.

The content is not where children from Attingal schools struggle. Most of them know it reasonably well.

Where they struggle is the experience of the exam itself.

Four subjects in one unbroken sitting. An OMR sheet where one misaligned bubble costs the mark regardless of whether the child knew the answer. A strange-looking question at the 80-minute mark that breaks concentration. Time running out in the fourth section because the first three took too long.

Eligibility

Girls can apply for Class 6. Sainik School Kazhakootam has 10 girl seats - with Kerala domicile girl seats within that allocation. The competition for those seats is real. Starting early is not optional if your daughter is serious.

Registration opens in October. Exam in January. Results in March. If your child is in Class 4 or 5, start now - not when the form drops.
