Sainik School Satara - India's first Sainik School, founded in 1961 - has 100 Class 6 seats. 67 of those go to Maharashtra domicile boys. Plus 10 girl seats split between home-state and other states. A child from Bhandara, Tumsar, Lakhandur, Pauni or Mohadi holds a Maharashtra domicile. They compete only within the Maharashtra home-state pool.

The AISSEE ↗ merit list treats a score from Bhandara and a score from Pune identically. What is not identical - unless families take action - is preparation quality. What the AISSEE Demands

Content is CBSE ↗ Class 5 curriculum. The challenge is the format - four subjects in one sitting on an OMR sheet under a running clock. A child who has never sat a full-length timed mock test before January makes avoidable errors. Misaligned bubbles. Poor time distribution. Last section rushed.

These are practice failures. The fix is full-length timed mock tests - done fifteen to twenty times before January. Nothing replaces that experience.

Minimum qualifying marks: 25% per subject, 40% aggregate - medical shortlist filter. The real Maharashtra home-state cut-off at Sainik School Satara is considerably higher.
