The Gol Gumbaz dome is the second largest in the world.
After St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
Mohammed Adil Shah began building his own mausoleum in 1626, the year he became Sultan of Bijapur. He wanted it larger than his father's tomb, the Ibrahim Rauza. Construction took 30 years. Mohammed Adil Shah died in 1656 - the same year his tomb was completed. He is buried there, along with two of his wives, his mistress Ramba, his daughter, and his grandson.
The dome's internal diameter is approximately 38 metres. It has no internal pillars - nothing supports it from below. Eight intersecting arches create the structural system that holds the dome. The engineer was Yaqut of Dabul.
The whispering gallery runs around the dome's inner perimeter at its base. A whisper made anywhere in the gallery is audible clearly on the opposite side - 37 to 38 metres away. Sound bounces off the dome's curved surface 10-11 times before fading. Every sound is amplified. Tourist guides clap once; the echo continues.
Bijapur - officially Vijayapura (City of Victory) since 2015 - was the capital of the Adil Shahi dynasty from 1490 to 1686. At its 17th-century peak, the city had a population between half a million and a million people. Malik-e-Maidan - a 55-tonne bronze cannon, one of the largest medieval cannons ever made - stands in the Bijapur Fort. It took 400 oxen and 10 elephants to move it.
Aurangzeb conquered Bijapur in 1686 and absorbed it into the Mughal empire.
Karnataka now has Sainik School Bijapur - a new Sainik School established with Karnataka state quota. It is in this district.
Population ~2.17 million. Literacy 68.78%.
Sainik School Bijapur is in this district. Karnataka state quota applies. Bijapur families compete within Karnataka's quota pool for their own district's school.
This is the same structural advantage that Goalpara has in Assam - the school is here.

Spatial reasoning: Bijapur is on the Deccan Plateau - flat basalt landscape, not dramatically hilly. First-mock accuracy: 20-26%. April training: 63-70%. October: 45-54%.
Gol Gumbaz: world's second largest dome (after St. Peter's Rome), whispering gallery, unsupported dome - among the most consistently tested AISSEE architecture GK questions.
Adil Shahi dynasty (1490-1686): one of five Deccan Sultanates, Battle of Talikota connection - testable medieval India history.

Families compare notes - some checking Sainik school coaching in Telangana fees - because when preparation works, the dome size stops mattering.
April: Intelligence complete, Gol Gumbaz GK depth activated, flat-terrain spatial gap closed. January - prepared.
October: week 10, spatial barely started. The school is in this district and still out of reach.
Mohammed Adil Shah planned his mausoleum from the day he became Sultan - before he was 30. He built for 30 years. AISSEE preparation requires the same long-term planning. Start in April.
