Chandel district borders Myanmar.
After Tengnoupal district was carved out in 2016, residual Chandel has a population of 85,072 - entirely rural, one of India's smallest districts by population. Kuki-Zo and Anal tribes dominant. Chakpi River valley. Myanmar border. Manipur state quota at Sainik School Imphal. Chandel families compete within Manipur only.
The structural advantage is real. Manipur has 2.7 million people. Sainik School Imphal reserves 67% of seats for Manipur children. Chandel's small population means fewer children from this district in the competition pool. But preparation quality - specifically Intelligence training from April - is still the deciding factor.
This is the fundamental fact every Chandel family needs to understand before choosing a coaching centre.
No school in Chandel - or anywhere in India - teaches pattern recognition, number series, analogies, or spatial reasoning as subjects. These four skills are completely absent from every Indian school curriculum.
A child from the best school in Chandel town and a child from the most remote village in the district both start at 20-25% Intelligence accuracy on day one of preparation. This is not a function of school quality. It's a function of what schools teach.
What changes this: 16 weeks of specific training from April.
Pattern recognition - what week-by-week training does that school cannot replicate
Consider why school cannot build this skill. In school, every problem has a stated method. "Use the formula." "Apply the rule." "Follow the procedure." The student's job is application.
AISSEE ↗ gives sequences where the rule is never stated. The student's job is discovery.
Discovering rules is a trainable cognitive skill. But it requires repeated deliberate practice - not school-type application practice. It requires encountering 30-50 sequences per session where the rule must be found, not given.
How the training builds this over 16 weeks:
Weeks 1-2: The child learns that sequences have discoverable rules. Simple single-rule sequences - rotation, count, shading. The discovery habit begins to form. Accuracy: 35-45%.
Weeks 3-4: Faster recognition on familiar rule types. Harder versions of single-rule sequences. The checklist becomes more automatic.
Weeks 5-8: Compound rules. Two rules simultaneously. The critical learning: "Always check for a second rule after finding the first." This checking habit requires 3-4 weeks to consolidate.
Weeks 9-16: Speed, mixed types, full mocks, diagnosis. Final accuracy: 70-80%.
Chandel's tribal-background children - who grow up navigating mountain terrain, reading natural patterns in the environment - often show slightly faster early progress in pattern recognition (weeks 1-4) than flat-plains children. The skill of reading environmental patterns transfers modestly to AISSEE's visual sequences.
Number series - building recognition across 15+ types
Chandel's tribal agricultural economy and border-trade commerce creates moderate practical arithmetic. The specific training need: moving from calculation to recognition.
This transition requires one thing: repeated exposure to each series type until the first three terms trigger immediate type identification.
15+ types. 20 exposures per type. April through July. Every week a full Intelligence section mock. Each series type encountered multiple times per week.
By August: most types are recognisable without calculation. By November: recognition is automatic under exam pressure. By January: 70-80% accuracy on the number series section.
October start: 10 weeks, approximately 6-7 types covered adequately. The remaining 8-9 types still require calculation. The complex types (Fibonacci, prime-based, factorial) are the last to be trained - and October start never reaches them fully.
Analogies: Thadou and Meitei multilingual background. Strong relationship-identification instincts from multilingual Chandel. Verbal analogy: 66-73% without training. Numerical and logical: 6 weeks each.
Spatial: Mountain terrain - Chandel's hills and Chakpi river valley. Strong spatial baseline. First-mock: 32-40%. April training: 68-75%. October: 52-62%.
The mountain terrain advantage is one of the strongest in Manipur.
India-Myanmar border geography: Manipur's border districts, Indo-Myanmar relations - testable.
Kuki-Zo tribes: tribal geography of Northeast India - testable AISSEE GK.
Manipur state quota at Sainik School Imphal: Manipur's 2.7 million population for 67% of seats - structural advantage is real.
Eight students. One specialist per section. Weekly mocks. Section-wise diagnosis. October conversation. OMR from day one.
Class 6 - Age 10-12. March 31 cutoff. Class 9 - Age 13-15. March 31 cutoff.
Online coaching removes all terrain barriers. Same teachers, same mocks, same diagnosis from any village in Chandel district.
