An approved New Sainik School in Chandrapur is part of the AISSEE ↗ framework. That means students from this district have a local option alongside the original Sainik School Satara.

Sainik School Satara has 100 Class 6 seats - 67 reserved for Maharashtra domicile boys plus 10 girl seats. A child from Chandrapur, Ballarpur, Warora, Chimur or Gondpipri holds a Maharashtra domicile. They compete only within the Maharashtra home-state pool for those 67 seats at Satara.

For the New Sainik School Chandrapur, the rules are different. 40% of seats go purely on AISSEE All India rank - no domicile reservation. 60% go to students already enrolled internally. For outside applicants, only the 40% open merit route applies. That means a strong national rank - not just a state rank - is needed.

What the Exam Tests

Maths, GK, Language and Intelligence. 125 questions. 300 marks. 150 minutes. OMR-based, offline.

Maths: 150 marks - 50 questions at 3 marks each. GK, Language and Intelligence: 50 marks each.

Content is CBSE ↗ Class 5 curriculum. The challenge is the format. Four subjects in one sitting on an OMR sheet under a running clock. A child who has never sat a full-length timed mock test will make avoidable format errors on exam day - not from lack of knowledge, from lack of practice.

Full-length timed mock tests done fifteen to twenty times before January is the fix. The first mock is always rough. By the fifteenth, it is routine.

Minimum qualifying marks: 25% per subject, 40% aggregate - medical shortlist filter for old Sainik Schools. For New Sainik School Chandrapur through the 40% route, All India rank is everything.
