The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Military Academy in Silvassa is a New Sainik School. The admission rules here differ slightly from the 33 old Sainik Schools - for new schools, 40% of seats are filled purely on AISSEE All India rank, with no domicile or category reservation. The remaining 60% go to students already enrolled in the school.

What that means for outside applicants - your child's AISSEE rank is everything. There is no domicile shortcut. Preparation is the only lever that matters.

For students who choose to apply to one of the older 33 Sainik Schools - say, Sainik School Balachadi in Gujarat, which is geographically close - the standard 67% home UT quota applies, and a Dadra and Nagar Haveli domicile certificate becomes a significant advantage there.

Either way, the exam is the same. The preparation is the same.

What the AISSEE Tests

NTA conducts the exam offline, on OMR answer sheets. Class 6 paper: 2.5 hours. Class 9: 3 hours. No negative marking.

Subjects for Class 6: Mathematics, General Knowledge, Language and Intelligence. Five subjects for Class 9, adding Science.

The OMR format is the part most students underestimate. They know the syllabus well enough. But filling bubbles correctly, managing time across four subjects, keeping calm when a question looks difficult - that is a different skill entirely. It comes only from doing it repeatedly before exam day.
