In 1855, two brothers gathered 30,000 Santals and declared war on the British.
Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu. From the Santhal Parganas. The British East India Company had settled Santals in the Damin-i-koh - the border of the hills - as agricultural labourers. Then imposed taxes. Then allowed zamindars and moneylenders (dikkus - outsiders) to exploit the Santals systematically. The anger built over decades.
On July 30, 1855, Sidhu declared the Santal Hul - the Santal Revolt. 30,000 men and women mobilised. They attacked zamindars and British officials. They ran a parallel government in Santhal Parganas for months. It took 10,000 British troops, cavalry, and artillery to suppress them. Sidhu and Kanhu were captured and hanged.
The Santal Hul is considered the largest tribal revolt in Indian history before the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny. It happened right here - in what is now the Santhal Parganas division, headquartered at Dumka.
Dumka is the sub-capital of Jharkhand - the second seat of government. The state government holds sessions in Dumka. The Sidhu-Kanhu Murmu University is named after the revolt's leaders.
Masanjore Dam on the Mayurakshi river is in this district. The Mayurakshi river - one of Bengal's major rivers - originates near Dumka and flows toward West Bengal.
Population 1.32 million. Literacy 53.57% - below Jharkhand average. Santali is a major community language. Part of the original Damin-i-koh where the 1855 revolt began.
Sainik School Tilaiya, Koderma. 67% Jharkhand quota. Dumka families compete within Jharkhand only.
Sub-capital location means Dumka has slightly better institutional infrastructure than remote Jharkhand districts. Intelligence training from April is still the decisive factor.
Pattern recognition: 16-week arc from April - 70-80%. October: 55-65%.
Number series: Agricultural and tribal economy. Practical arithmetic. AISSEE ↗ trap: calculation replacing recognition. April practice.
Analogies: Santali-Hindi bilingual (with Bengali minority from West Bengal border proximity). Santali has its own script - Ol-Chiki - and is in the 8th Schedule. Multilingual background creates relationship-identification instincts. Verbal analogy: 65-72% without training. Numerical and logical: six weeks each. Combined: +8-12 marks.
Spatial reasoning: Rajmahal Hills to the north. Chota Nagpur plateau features in parts of the district. Not dramatically mountainous but hilly enough to create spatial awareness above flat plains.
First-mock accuracy: 24-32%. April training: 65-72%. October: 47-56%.
Santal Hul (1855): Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, 30,000 Santals, largest pre-1857 tribal revolt - specifically tested AISSEE freedom movement history. Dumka families know this as their own history.
Santali language in 8th Schedule: added 2003 by 92nd Constitutional Amendment, Ol-Chiki script developed by Raghunath Murmu - testable constitutional language and cultural GK.
Masanjore Dam on Mayurakshi river: dam-river geography, West Bengal connection - testable.
Jharkhand sub-capital (Dumka): state governance and administrative geography - testable GK.
Damin-i-koh: the "skirt of the hills" - British settlement zone for Santals, origin of the 1855 revolt - testable historical geography.
Gap areas: defence organisation, constitutional articles, science GK. Systematic coverage from April adds 10-15 marks.
Eight students. One specialist per section. Weekly mocks. Real format. Section-wise diagnosis. October conversation. OMR from day one. Medical round throughout.
Class 6 - Age 10-12. March 31 cutoff. Class 9 - Age 13-15. March 31 cutoff. Check now.
3,716 sq km, Santhal Parganas terrain. Online batch: same teachers, same mocks, same section-wise diagnosis from any village in the district.
Families compare notes - some checking Sainik school coaching in Telangana fees - because when preparation works, the river name stops mattering.
April: Santal Hul GK depth activated, Intelligence completes, Ol-Chiki constitutional GK covered. January - prepared.
October: week 10, incomplete. January first.
Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu didn't plan their revolt in three months. The Santal Hul built across years of anger, then launched with full force. AISSEE preparation follows the same logic - build from April, launch in January.
