Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner turned a desert into Rajasthan's Wheat Bowl.
The Gang Canal, completed in 1927, brought irrigation to land that had been part of the Thar Desert. It transformed Sri Ganganagar into one of Rajasthan's most agriculturally productive districts - the state's primary wheat and cotton producer. The city itself is named after the Maharaja and was laid out as a planned grid-pattern city - unusual for Rajasthan's typically organic medieval town layouts.
Northernmost district in Rajasthan. Borders Punjab to the north and Pakistan to the west.
Rajasthan has Sainik School Chittorgarh - 67% Rajasthan state quota. Ganganagar families compete within Rajasthan only.
Ganganagar's intensive agricultural economy - among the most productive in Rajasthan - produces children with strong commercial arithmetic. The Intelligence section tests something entirely different.
Pattern recognition, number series, analogies, spatial reasoning. Untrained: 20-25%. After 16 weeks from April: 70-80%.
Pattern recognition - four phases, all required
Phase 1 (Weeks 1-4): Scanning reflex. 38-46%.
Phase 2 (Weeks 5-8): Compound detection. Requires Phase 1's automaticity. 55-65%.
Phase 3 (Weeks 9-12): Speed. 65-72%.
Phase 4 (Weeks 13-16): Full mocks, diagnosis. 70-80%.
October: Phase 2 half-formed. 55-60%.
Number series - the wheat bowl trap
Strong agricultural commercial arithmetic - yield calculations, market pricing, irrigation planning. AISSEE ↗ number series still traps confident calculators with complex types that cannot be solved within 45 seconds by calculation alone. Recognition, built through April practice, is the only solution.
Analogies and spatial reasoning
Verbal: Punjabi-Hindi-Rajasthani multilingual (Punjab border proximity). Strong relationship-identification instincts from multilingual exposure. 65-72% verbal accuracy without training. Numerical and logical: 6 weeks each.
Spatial: Flat irrigated agricultural plains near the Pakistan border. First-mock: 16-22%. April training: 60-68%. October: 42-51%.
Gang Canal (1927, Maharaja Ganga Singh): India's major irrigation projects - specifically testable AISSEE GK on agricultural engineering history.
Ganganagar as Rajasthan's Wheat Bowl: India's agricultural geography - testable.
Punjab-Pakistan border proximity: India's northwestern border geography - testable.
Planned grid-pattern city design: India's urban planning history - testable.
