Gurdaspur's placement in India in 1947 gave India its road to Kashmir.

August 1947. Gurdaspur district had a 51.14% Muslim majority according to the 1941 census. On that basis, Pakistan expected to receive it. The Radcliffe Award gave only the Shakargarh tehsil of Gurdaspur to Pakistan - and kept the rest in India.

The reason this mattered: the only road connecting India to the Kashmir Valley passed through Gurdaspur district. Without Gurdaspur, India would have had no land access to Kashmir. When Pakistani raiders attacked Kashmir in October 1947, Indian troops couldn't have reached there.

One district. One road. A different Radcliffe decision would have made the Kashmir conflict structurally unwinnable for India from the start.

Majha region. Ranjit Sagar Dam (Thein Dam) on the Ravi River - Punjab's largest dam. Population 2,298,323. Literacy 79.95%. Punjab has Sainik School Kapurthala - 67% Punjab state quota. Gurdaspur families compete within Punjab only.

AISSEE Intelligence - What School Preparation Misses

Pattern recognition, number series, analogies, spatial reasoning - absent from every school. Untrained: 20-25%. After 16 weeks from April: 70-80%.

Pattern recognition - precision about why 16 weeks is not a guideline

The training produces results through sequential, phase-dependent development.

Weeks 1-4: scanning reflex formation. The child's brain must learn to automatically check orientation, count, shading, and form - in sequence, without conscious deliberation. This reflex doesn't form in 2 weeks. It forms in 4, through daily repetition at 50+ questions per session. Accuracy reaches 38-46%.

Weeks 5-8: compound detection. Two rules simultaneously. AISSEE ↗ uses compound patterns specifically because they catch children whose single-rule scanning is still deliberate - those children find Rule 1, think they're done, miss Rule 2. Compound detection requires that Phase 1 is automatic. 55-65%.

Weeks 9-12: speed compression. 65-72%.

Weeks 13-16: full mocks, diagnosis. 70-80%.

October: arrives at January with Phase 2 half-formed. Compound questions - which appear throughout the AISSEE Intelligence section - catch these children at 55-60% accuracy.

Number series - Gurdaspur's agricultural and service economy profile

Gurdaspur's sugarcane and wheat agricultural base, combined with border service economy, creates children with moderate arithmetic confidence. The AISSEE trap is standard: recognition beats calculation on 45-second time limits.

15+ types. 20 exposures each from April. By August: recognition functional. By November: automatic.

Analogies and spatial reasoning

Verbal: Punjabi dominant, Dogri influence near Pathankot border (some Kangra connectivity). 66-73% verbal accuracy without training. Numerical and logical: 6 weeks each.

Spatial: Gurdaspur has the Ranjit Sagar Dam's hilly terrain and Ravi river valley to the north, flatter plains in the south. Moderate baseline. First-mock: 22-28%. April training: 64-71%. October: 46-55%.

GK - Radcliffe Award, Kashmir Road, Ranjit Sagar Dam

Radcliffe Award and Gurdaspur's strategic importance for Kashmir access: among AISSEE's most tested partition history facts. The specific argument that Gurdaspur's award enabled Indian military access to Kashmir in October 1947 is a precisely testable historical connection.

Ranjit Sagar Dam (Thein Dam, Ravi River, Punjab's largest): India's major dams - testable physical geography.

Partition of India, the Radcliffe Line, and its disputed decisions: testable modern history.

Majha region (Punjab's three cultural regions): testable Punjab geography.
