The Jiri and Barak rivers meet at Jiribam.
Western gateway to Manipur. 220 kilometres from Imphal. Bordering Cachar, Assam. Created as a district in December 2016. Smallest district in Manipur by area (232 sq km). Population 43,838 - one of Manipur's smallest. Literacy 63.11% (low). Flat valley terrain unlike the rest of Manipur. Manipur state quota at Sainik School Imphal. Jiribam families compete within Manipur only.
Intelligence section: pattern recognition, number series, analogies, spatial reasoning. Not taught anywhere. Untrained: 20-25%. After 16 weeks from April: 70-80%.
For Jiribam - lower literacy makes this gap wider on English comprehension too. Eight months from April closes both. Three months from October closes neither.
Pattern recognition - what 16 weeks builds
The training builds rule-discovery instincts through four phases. Each phase is prerequisite for the next. This means the sequence cannot be skipped or compressed.
Phase 1 establishes scanning. Phase 2 teaches compound detection. Phase 3 builds speed. Phase 4 consolidates through full mocks.
October start arrives at January with Phase 2 half-formed. The compound pattern questions - AISSEE ↗'s hardest - catch children whose compound detection habit hasn't consolidated.
Number series - the recognition requirement
15+ series types. Each needs 15-20 encounters before the first three terms trigger instant type identification. April through July covers all types. October through December covers roughly half.
The types trained last - Fibonacci, factorial, prime-based - are precisely the ones that cannot be solved by calculation. October starters miss these. They arrive at January with the types that can be calculated (arithmetic, geometric) and fail on the types that require recognition only.
Analogies and spatial reasoning
Verbal: Bengali and Meitei bilingual Jiribam. 66-73% verbal accuracy without training. Numerical and logical: 6 weeks each.
Spatial: Jiribam is flat valley terrain - unusual for Manipur. First-mock: 18-25%. April training: 63-70%. October: 45-55%.
Flat terrain means spatial training needs the full April arc. This makes April start specifically important for Jiribam.
Western gateway to Manipur: Manipur's connectivity geography - testable.
Barak River: Manipur's largest river, flows from Tamenglong through Jiribam to Assam - testable physical geography.
Jiri-Barak confluence: river geography of Northeast India - testable.
NH-37 connecting Jiribam to Imphal: Manipur's highway infrastructure - testable.
Eight students. One specialist per section. Weekly mocks. Section-wise diagnosis. October conversation. OMR from day one.
Class 6 - Age 10-12. March 31 cutoff. Class 9 - Age 13-15. March 31 cutoff.
