Mandsaur is India's largest opium-producing district. Licensed cultivation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The opium goes to government factories for morphine, codeine, and other pharmaceutical-grade opiates. The Mandsaur opium yield feeds a significant share of the world's legitimate pharmaceutical supply.

Population 1.34 million. Literacy 71.78%. Malwa region.

MP has Sainik School Rewa. MP state quota applies. Mandsaur families compete within MP only.

What AISSEE Tests - And Why School Preparation Is Not Enough

AISSEE ↗ has four sections. Class 6: Maths, English, GK, Intelligence. Class 9 adds Science and Social Studies.

Three sections reward school study. The fourth - Intelligence - does not.

Pattern recognition, number series, analogies, spatial reasoning. These four skills appear in no school syllabus in India. Not MP board. Not CBSE. Not anywhere.

A child from Mandsaur's best school opens the Intelligence section in January having never encountered this type of question in any classroom. Untrained accuracy: 20-25%. After 16 weeks of specific training from April: 70-80%.

That 50-mark improvement is where most MP state quota selections are decided.

The Intelligence Section - What Each Sub-Type Requires

Pattern recognition - the most important skill to build first

AISSEE asks the child to look at a sequence of figures or numbers and identify the hidden rule - then predict the next element. The key word is hidden. Nobody states the rule. The child must derive it.

School does the opposite. Every maths rule, every grammar rule, every procedure is explicitly stated. Students apply rules they've been given. AISSEE requires deriving rules nobody gave.

This is a different cognitive direction. Years of good school performance do not build it.

Training from April works in four phases. Weeks 1-4: single-rule visual patterns. The child learns to scan - what changes between each figure? Rotation? Shading? Element addition? By week 4, untrained children move from 22% to 40% accuracy.

Weeks 5-8: compound patterns. Two rules operating simultaneously. The child learns to decompose - identify the first rule, then the second, apply both to predict.

Weeks 9-12: timed conditions. Speed matters. AISSEE allows roughly 45 seconds per Intelligence question. Week-12 children can answer in 20-25 seconds with 60-65% accuracy.

Weeks 13-16: full AISSEE-format mocks. Real timing, real OMR, section-wise diagnosis after every mock. By week 16: 70-80% accuracy.

October start reaches week 10 by January. Week-10 performance: 55-60%. The 15-20% gap on a 50-mark section decides selections.

Number series - type recognition, not calculation

Mandsaur's agricultural and commercial economy produces children with strong practical arithmetic. Fast at calculation. Confident with numbers.

AISSEE exploits this. The exam allows 45 seconds per number series question. Calculating - working differences, checking second differences, projecting - takes 60-90 seconds. Doesn't fit.

The trained approach: see the first three terms, recognise the series type, answer in six seconds.

3, 6, 12, 24 - geometric, ratio 2 - answer 48. Done. 2, 5, 10, 17, 26 - second-order AP, differences 3, 5, 7, 9 - next difference 11 - answer 37. Done.

That recognition builds through weekly practice from April across all 15+ AISSEE series types. Two months for functional recognition. Four months for automatic recognition under pressure.

October gives 10 weeks. Series recognition is still partly calculation-dependent. January arrives with the wrong tool in hand.

Analogies - three types, three training needs

Verbal analogies: Mandsaur's Hindi-Malwi bilingual background gives 65-72% untrained verbal analogy accuracy. Genuine head start on one-third of the section.

Numerical analogies (4:16::5:25, squares; 2:8::3:27, cubes): language background doesn't help here. The child must recognise the mathematical relationship type between the pair - squaring, cubing, dividing, multiplying by a factor. Six weeks of targeted training: 30% untrained to 70%+.

Logical/figure analogies: a figure transforms according to a rule; apply that rule to a new figure. No language, no Maths background helps. Six weeks: 20% to 65%+.

Combined targeted training adds 8-12 marks above the Hindi bilingual baseline.

Spatial reasoning

Mandsaur is Malwa plateau - rocky, hilly terrain with the Chambal to the north. Not flat delta plains. Children from rocky Malwa plateau terrain have moderate spatial baselines: 24-30% first-mock accuracy.

Six to eight weeks of progressive training from April: 65-72%. October: 47-55%. The plateau terrain creates a real starting advantage that April training converts.

GK - Pashupatinath, Opium, and Dashpur

Pashupatinath Temple Mandsaur: ancient Hindu religious geography - testable cultural GK.

India's largest licensed opium producing district: India's pharmaceutical raw material geography, NDPS framework - testable.

Dashpur (ancient name): Gupta era inscriptions - testable ancient history.

Gandhi Sagar Dam on Chambal: MP dam geography - testable physical geography.

MP state quota at Sainik School Rewa: Mandsaur families benefit from MP-only competition.

SainikGuru's Programme

Families compare notes - some checking Sainik school coaching in Telangana fees - because when preparation works, the plateau name stops mattering.

April or October

April: full 16-week Intelligence arc completes. Plateau terrain spatial advantage converted. January - prepared.

October: week 10. Spatial at 47-55%. Analogies untrained. January first.
