What builds it: systematic exposure to sequences where the rule must be found. 50+ questions per session. Week by week.

Week 1-2: Orientation scanning. Child learns to check whether a shape rotates between frames. Clockwise? Anticlockwise? 90°? 180°? The brain begins forming a scanning reflex.

Week 3-4: Count scanning added. Does the number of elements inside or around the shape change? By +1? -1? ×2? By week 4, single-rule sequences are manageable. 38-46%.

Week 5-6: Compound patterns introduced. Two rules operating simultaneously. The child discovers that their single-rule scan isn't completing the solution. They learn to ask: "Is there still unexplained variation after Rule 1?" If yes - find Rule 2.

Week 7-8: The compound detection habit consolidates. Not from being told. From repeated encounters with compound patterns under exam conditions. By week 8: 58-66%.

Week 9-12: AISSEE speed introduced. 30-40 seconds per question. The trained child's checklist runs automatically, leaving 15-20 seconds for the answer. 65-73%.

Week 13-16: Full AISSEE mocks. Real timing. Section diagnosis by pattern type. Personalised reinforcement. 70-80%.

October start: arrives at January mid-Phase 2. Compound detection is forming but not consolidated. AISSEE's compound questions catch these children.

Number series - Mokokchung's specific training requirement

Ao Naga families - educated, commercially active - produce children with strong arithmetic confidence. The AISSEE number series trap operates specifically on confident calculators.

The time constraint is absolute. Consider two approaches to 1, 4, 9, 16, 25:

A calculating child: differences are 3, 5, 7, 9. These increase by 2 each time. Next difference is 11. Answer: 36. This took 35-45 seconds.

A trained child: sees 1, 4, 9 and recognises "perfect squares" immediately. Answer: 36. Six seconds.

Same answer. Completely different time. For complex series (second-order AP, cube-based, Fibonacci), the calculating child cannot finish before 45 seconds. The trained child finishes in 6-8.

Weekly practice from April builds recognition across all 15+ AISSEE series types. By August: functional. By November: automatic.
