Second Lieutenant Rama Raghoba Rane won the Param Vir Chakra at Rajouri.
April 8, 1948. Pakistani raiders had occupied Rajouri on November 7, 1947 - five days after Pakistan's tribal invasion of Kashmir began. The 30,000 Hindu and Sikh residents of Rajouri were killed, wounded, or abducted in the massacre that followed. For five months, Rajouri was under occupation.
Second Lt. Rane was ordered to recapture it. The road to Rajouri was blocked. He personally commanded tanks over the Tawi river bed - bypassing the road blocks - leading the assault that broke through. Despite wounds, he pressed forward. April 12, 1948 - Rajouri was retaken. The Indian Army entered. The 1,500 refugees who had fled to the hills came down.
Rane received the Param Vir Chakra for his action at Rajouri. He is one of its 21 recipients.
Before 1947: Rajouri was called Rajapuri - the royal city. Hiuen Tsang visited in 632 CE and described it. It was the capital of the Abhisar republic in the 4th century BCE - mentioned in the Mahabharata, relevant at the time of Alexander's invasion. Mughal Emperor Jahangir died at Chingas village, 18 kilometres from Rajouri town, in 1627, while travelling to Kashmir. The Mughal Road to Kashmir runs through this district. Multiple Mughal sarais still stand.

Spatial reasoning - Pir Panjal advantage
Rajouri's Pir Panjal range terrain - mountain terrain at 2,400-4,000m, valleys below, LOC passes above - creates strong three-dimensional spatial awareness. Same general profile as Poonch.
First-mock accuracy: 32-40%. April training: 68-76%. October: 52-62%.
Param Vir Chakra: Rane's action at Rajouri is a specifically tested AISSEE defence GK fact. The PVC, its recipients, and the specific acts of bravery - Rane's tank assault over the Tawi river bed - is testable.
Mughal Road: Akbar's route to Kashmir, the sarais, Jahangir's death at Chingas - specifically testable Mughal history.
Abhisar republic with Rajouri as capital: 4th century BCE, Alexander's invasion era - testable ancient India history.
LOC proximity: 200km of LOC border - defence awareness embedded in daily life.
Gap areas: constitutional articles, science GK, current affairs format. Systematic coverage from April adds 10-15 marks.

2,630 sq km of Pir Panjal terrain. Daily coaching travel impractical for most families. Online batch: same teachers, same mocks, same diagnosis.
Families compare notes - some checking Sainik school coaching in Telangana fees - because when preparation works, the mountain pass name stops mattering.
April: Pir Panjal spatial advantage fully converted, PVC history GK activated, Intelligence completes. January - prepared.
October: spatial at 52-62%, week 10 only. January first.
Rane didn't wait for a better route to Rajouri. He took the tanks across the river bed. AISSEE preparation requires the same directness. Start in April.
