What the Exam Tests

Maths: 150 marks - 50 questions at 3 marks each. Half the paper. GK, Language and Intelligence: 50 marks each.

The ST reservation reduces the competition within the sub-pool. But it does not eliminate preparation as the deciding factor. The seat goes to whoever scores highest within the ST Odisha home-state group. A child who has done twenty full-length timed mock tests before January is stronger than one who has done two - inside any category.

Minimum qualifying: 25% per subject, 40% aggregate - medical shortlist filter. For ST candidates the effective qualifying score is lower than General.
