Children come to Intelligence training with one dominant skill: applying rules they've been told. Every school subject builds this. Maths: apply the formula. Grammar: apply the rule. History: apply the period framework.

AISSEE demands the opposite. Derive the rule. Nobody gives it to you.

This is not difficult when trained - but it requires training. The brain needs repetitions. Each week, the pattern recognition training provides:

• 40-60 single-rule sequence questions at increasing complexity
• 20-30 compound-rule sequence questions
• Full section mocks with time pressure
• After-mock diagnosis: which type of rule did the child fail to detect? Rotation? Symmetry? Arithmetic progression in element count?

By week 4: child can reliably detect single-rule patterns. 40-45% accuracy. By week 8: compound patterns improving. 55-65%. By week 12: full variety, timed. 65-72%. By week 16: mock-calibrated, automatic. 70-80%.

October start gives weeks 1-10 before January. The child arrives at the exam still in the middle of the compound pattern learning phase. That phase produces 55-60% accuracy - not enough.

Number series - precision about time

Let's be exact about what "45 seconds per question" means in practice.

AISSEE Class 6 Intelligence: 50 questions, 45 minutes. That's 54 seconds average. But time is not evenly distributed. Easy pattern questions take 15-20 seconds. Complex number series take 60-90 if calculated. The time budget per number series question is maybe 35-40 seconds.

A child who calculates:

• 2, 4, 8, 16 → OK, 6 seconds. Geometric ratio 2.
• 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 → Perfect squares. 8 seconds if recognised. 30 seconds if calculated.
• 3, 5, 9, 15, 23 → Differences: 2, 4, 6, 8. An AP in the differences. If recognised: 8 seconds. If calculated: 60 seconds.

The untrained child calculates. The trained child recognises. The recognition is built by seeing each series type 20+ times over 4 months from April.

Analogies and spatial reasoning
