Rabindranath Tagore was 22 when he visited Karwar.
He wrote: "The sea beach of Karwar is certainly a fit place in which to realize that the beauty of Nature is not a mirage of the imagination, but reflects the joy of the Infinite and thus draws us to lose ourselves in it."
The beach in Karwar is now called Rabindranath Tagore Beach. The city's annual cultural festival is called Karavali Utsav - held on Tagore Beach. A Nobel laureate's memory defines the city's public space.
That was 1882. In 2001, the Indian Navy established INS Kadamba at Arga village near Karwar - part of Project Seabird, the largest infrastructure project in Indian naval history. INS Kadamba is now India's largest naval base. It is the homeport of INS Vikramaditya - India's only aircraft carrier.
The Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant operates 50 kilometres from Karwar town on the banks of the Kali River.
Karwar is the administrative headquarters of Uttara Kannada district. The Kali River meets the Arabian Sea here. Literacy 84% - among Karnataka's highest.
The Kadamba dynasty - the first indigenous dynasty of Karnataka - ruled this region from 350 to 525 CE, with their capital at Banavasi (15km away). INS Kadamba is named after them.
Karnataka has Sainik School Kodagu and Sainik School Bijapur (Karnataka state quota). Karwar children with Karnataka domicile compete within Karnataka's quota pool.
Pattern recognition: 16-week arc from April - 70-80%. October: 55-65%.

Analogies: Multilingual Karwar - Kannada, Konkani, Urdu, Hindi all spoken. Coastal trading history creates vocabulary breadth. Verbal analogy: 67-74% without training. Numerical and logical: six weeks each. Combined: +8-12 marks.
Spatial reasoning - Western Ghats + Arabian Sea
Karwar is sandwiched between the Western Ghats (east) and the Arabian Sea (west). The Kali River mouth, the coastal hills, the islands visible from shore - children who grow up in this geography develop three-dimensional spatial awareness from the dramatic land-sea-mountain interface.
First-mock accuracy: 28-36%. April training: 67-75%. October: 50-60%.

Families compare notes - some checking Sainik school coaching in Telangana fees - because when preparation works, the naval base name stops mattering.
April: Western Ghats-coast terrain spatial advantage converted, INS Kadamba defence GK activated, Intelligence completes. January - prepared.
October: spatial incomplete, week 10 only. January first.
INS Kadamba was planned for decades before it opened in 2001 - India's navy understood the need for advance planning at this scale. AISSEE preparation follows the same logic. Start in April.
